Considering the constant stress of a high pressure field, not to mention life during a global pandemic, it's completely understandable if you've been feeling overwhelmed or emotionally drained. Constantly being in a bad news environment with little to no cogitative breaks can take a tremendous toll on your psyche.
Emotional exhaustion was described by a
Mayo Clinic Health System article
as "the state of feeling emotionally worn out and drained" due to stress accumulation from "negative or challenging events in life that just keep coming." As many nuclear medicine professionals go back to work, accommodate increased scheduling demands, or alter their teaching and training schedules, the sheer volume of responsibilities may cause mental fatigue that can lead to other health concerns.
